卡塔尔要求运营商在2025年12月底前关闭3G服务

飞象网讯（悻眓/文）卡塔尔电信监管机构要求运营商在2025年12月底前关闭3G服务，并立即禁止进口无法支持新一代移动网络的手机。

卡塔尔通信监管局（CRA）在一份声明中解释称，此举是为了提高电信服务的质量和效率。声明指出，此举是在与利益相关方进行咨询后作出的，并“符合CRA逐步淘汰过时的旧技术的努力，允许两家电信服务提供商将投资用于4G和5G网络的发展和扩展”。

CRA的手机进口禁令即刻生效，针对任何仅支持3G和2G的手机。

这一公告使卡塔尔成为越来越多计划停用3G的国家之一。各国的监管机构和运营商认为，释放相关频谱和停止运行低效的旧网络将带来整体服务的改善和节能效果。

GSMA Intelligence估计，2024年第二季度，Ooredoo Qatar网络上有近81,000个3G连接，而其竞争对手Vodafone Qatar则有近10,800个3G连接。相比之下，两家运营商在所有代际技术上的总连接数分别为270万和210万。
